10/27/2018 - President Eric Ng distributed candies and fortune cookies to the students of New York Chinese School, and wish all of them a happy Halloween.
10/26/2018 - CCBA and Neighbors United Below Canal (NUBC) held a town hall meeting to discuss the Mayor's plan to close Rikers Island and build a new 40 stories Manhattan Detention Center in Chinatown to accept additional inmates. Representatives from the communities where the Mayor is planning to build or expand the detention centers from all 4 Boroughs joined the meeting and exchanged ideas. The communities urges the Mayor to stop the current process and engage the communities on his plan.
10/24/2018 - State Senator Tony Avella, who is running for New York State 11th Senate District re-election, visited CCBA and President Eric Ng. He agreed to stand along with the Chinese community on issues on Specialized High School Admissions Test (SHSAT) and the new jail proposal in Chinatown, and asked for supports from the Chinese American voters.
10/23/2018 - President Eric Ng, Lin Sing Association President James Wong, Hoy Sun Ning Yung Association President Raymond Tsang and representatives from Neighbors United Below Canal (NUBC) went to the office of City Council Member Margaret Chin, presented her the petition collected from the community against the building of the new jail, and urged her to represent her community's voice against the Mayor's plan.
10/22/2018 - Roy Leu Yuen-rong, the Deputy Minister of the Overseas Community Affairs Council of Republic of China visited CCBA in New York City.
10/19/2018 - CCBA and Neighbors United Below Canal(NUBC)held a press conference to announce a town hall meeting to discuss the Mayor's plan to close Rikers Island and expand the Manhattan Detention Center on Centre Street in Chinatown. Businesses and residents in Chinatown and nearby area are invited to express their opinion at this town hall meeting that will be held at CCBA auditorium (62 Mott Street, Chinatown) on Friday, October 26 at 6pm.
10/17/2018 - President Eric Ng and other community leaders attended the annual fundraising gala of Gouverneur.
10/10/2018 - CCBA hosted the annual Double Ten National Day Parade for the Republic of China.
10/08/2018 - President Eric Ng attended the opening ceremony of a Chinese Calligraphy Event hosted by Lin Sing Association, Hoy Sun Ning Yung Association and other organizations, which celebrates the Double Ten National Day of the Republic of China.
10/06/2018 - President Eric Ng and the community leaders from Chinatown went to Flushing to attend the Flag Raising Ceremony in Queens to celebrate the 107th Double Ten National Day of Republic of China.
10/03/2018 - President Eric Ng and many community leaders attended the Double Ten Celebration Reception held by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office of New York.
