Biography of President Jerry Shiao

Jerry Shiao is currently the President of the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association (CCBA) of New York, a position that is traditionally referred to as the "Mayor of Chinatown".  He began his two year term of office on March 1, 2016. 

Mr. Shiao was born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Republic of China. He was born in a family which is professional in traditional Chinese Medicine. After graduated from National University of Kaohsiung, Mr. Shiao came to the U.S. and settled in New Jersey. He started his trading and Chinese restaurant businesses in 1975 for over 30 years. He has a lovely family, including a son who is an engineering, a daughter who us a doctor, and he also has 3 lovely grand-children. He and his wife live in New Jersey.

Mr. Shiao has started to volunteer in the Chinese community since 1975. He has also been promoting traditional Chinese Medicine since then. He has served many important positions in the Chinese American community, including the President of Greater New York Hakka Association in 1986, and the President of Lin Sing Association in 2014.
