08/15/2018 - Assemblymember Yuh-Line Niou convened an urgent community meeting regarding the City’s plans to close Riker’s Island and the establishment of a borough-based detention center in Manhattan. She denounced the Mayor and the City for the lack of the Chinatown community engagement in this process. President Eric Ng reaffirmed CCBA's position against any additional inmate relocating to Chinatown and any plan to expand or rebuild the detention center in our neighborhood.
